Bright Future for Silicon Valley
Tomorrow’s latest and greatest new high-tech business firm is most likely brewing in Silicon Valley thanks to funding provided by the area’s numerous venture capitalists. In 2006, the Wall Street Journal printed a story that claimed ten of the twenty most inventive American towns were located in Silicon Valley, another reason Arthur Trueger founded Berkeley in the Valley. The top of Forbes’ Midas List, which highlights the year’s venture capital winners, also features a large number of investors who’ve thrived within the Silicon Valley community.
Finding these new high-tech ventures and companies is made easy by the local investment firms. The media in the area also caters to the local penchant for investment opportunity information. The San Jose Mercury News runs a Silicon Valley news hub, and there are several other community network and media outlets providing brochures, pamphlets, and newsletters with the latest venture capital trends and news. The area’s prominence among venture capitalists is so dominant that the National Venture Capital Association (NVCA) holds several of its key events there
